When we read or pray The Lords Prayer, we understand 'Give us this day our daily bread' to be a request to God asking him to provide for the day. We need food daily hence we ask for this daily.
However, in John 6:35 it says “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty’”
And so if we combine the two it also makes sense that we ask for Christ (the bread of life) daily. Just as we need physicall food to survive through the day is the same way we require spiritual food to get us through. Both (in different ways) will keep us nourised, energised and alert.
Call upon Jesus daily, into your life. It’s only through him can we be strengthened.
Matthew 6:9
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
